There are a few technical issues which are very common we found in Denon AVR-1612 that we will discuss here:-
Solution:- If there is no power or no LED light or no display then 1st you need to check the power socket by changing with some other device. If another device is working fine in the same socket that means the power socket(AC line voltage) absolutely fine. Now you need to check the power cable which should be connected firmly to the AC power socket of the Denon AV receiver which is built at the backside cabinet.
If the connection is proper that means the system has technical issues which will be resolve by doing this. Just remove the back cabinet by unscrewing the 8 screws. Then check the power supply PCB (circuit) which is built vertically at the AC power input section/side, then check the main fuse, if it is blown then change the main fuse with the same value. Now probably your system will turn on and your problem is decipher.
If the fuse blows again after changing by new one within a fraction of a second that means the power supply circuit (PCB) is short and you should visit the authorized service centre to check/ change the main Switching IC, bridge rectifier diode, main filter capacitor, 4148 diodes, quarter watts resistor and few low voltage Zener diodes. After doing this your power supply will be absolutely fine and your AV receiver/amplifier will work like earlier.
Fault:- No audio from any channel.
Solution:- Make the system factory reset by pressing and holding the tuner + and tuner – button together in standby condition, release the two-button when the display starts flashing at an interval of about 1 second. Afterwards, follow the instruction on the TV or projector screen, finish all the steps on screen, when complete it then try with input signal through HDMI cable.
If the problem still persists then try to update the firmware through USB which is freely available online.
Still, the problem still persists then check all the input signals like analogue coaxial and optical too, if there is no sound on any kind of signal mode that means the problem is in the HDMI card, therefore repairing or replacing should be there by authorised service Center.
If you found the HDMI card is perfect then the problem is in preamplifier or main power amplifier section.
